A Nice Weekend

Hi everyone,

It was a busy weekend!

Saturday we woke up to discover Baby Tink had a bottom tooth. That makes 3 on the bottom. We got ready and drove to Boston for Kristen Serratore's daughter's 9th birthday! It was a lot of fun. Lilly enjoyed being around all the girls and ate some cake too. Then we headed to North End and ate at our favorite Restaurant Massimino. Lilly was AMAZING. She ate her usual sweet potato and chicken but then decided a cracker and mozzarella cheese was good too. She was so calm no cries. Just a perfect baby. We are allowed to return. :) We changed her into her pj's and headed home. Arrived at 10pm to a very Happy Shih tzu.

Today we woke up to discover to more front teeth! So that is 4 top teeth now. W`1ee had Daddy's famous Blueberry pancakes and sausage. All enjoyed!!! Then Baby Tink and Mommy cleaned house. Daddy went to the dump. Yes here in Wolfeboro we do not have a garbage man. We have to do our own garbage and we recycling.

Lilly and I worked on her Thanksgiving cards. We got 1/2 done. I have to say they are VERY cute.

Mommy cooked cauliflower, sweet potatoes, and vege mix. blended everything up ready to eat for the week. Twiggy keeps reminding me its time to eat it now!

OK pics will be posted soon.

Lilly in Wolfeboro, NH

OH my gosh.... Are we all shocked that I got the Blog done? I am! After a good 3 hours I am finally caught up. Well we are missing the apple picking pics but once Mike finds those we are good to go.

So everyone wants to know about Lilly. Well let's jump from 7 months to almost 10 months!!! She recently went for her 9 month check up. She is almost 20lbs and is 27 and something inches. She can now stand and at times on her own. She is a speedy crawler. Nothing can stop her. She knows how to wave a little bit and say hey. She has 4 teeth. 2 top 2 bottom. Her hair is my color, a light red brown, and is getting curly in the back. She is now eating new foods like crackers with apple butter, pancakes, brussel sprouts, and cheese. Her and Twig get along very well. That is a shocker from the time we had "When Shi Tzuhs attack" episode.

She has had her 1st plane ride and her 1st road trip. We are spending Thanksgiving in Lewes, DE this year and Christmas in Wolfeboro, NH.

I have to say Mike and I are so lucky to have such an amazing daughter!!! Enjoy the pics. More to come and soon.

Our Big Adventure

Wow so much has happened in 2 weeks.

First Gigi went home after 4 months of living next door to us. We were invited out Thursday for Happy Hour. Mike response was "Um, no we have to deal with reality now..I am a parent. " No more Glorified babysitter. She was absolutely great. Let's see how long she lasts. :)

Lilly's first day at school started Wednesday. She pretty much looks at me and if she could talk she would say:" Mommy get out of here. I got things to do like ride on my train and swing and take Max's toys away. Beat it already." She adapted the very first day. She is amazing when it comes to pre-school. She LOVES it! Don't get me wrong we miss our Vivi (nanny). She will be here this Friday night watching Lilly for us.

Lilly also got in the pool for the first time. She loves that too. We go to the pool at least once every weekend and once during the weekday. She is a water baby.

The other big thing Mike and I have been doing almost everyday is walking 5 miles. The entire family goes. Yep Twiggy rides in the Bob as well. Today we even added the run to it. However we started at 12 in 90 degree heat. So it about killed us both. Lilly sleeps pretty much the entire way. Twiggy is upfront getting her breeze on and just happy to participate.

I cannot believe Lilly with be 5 months on the 19th. Everybody is very correct when they say time goes by so fast. She is in love with her butterfly toy. Oh and her new thing is the bathroom paper cups. She has to have one in her hand all the time. Who knows.

Lilly is teething a bit. Nothing we cannot handle. A little chewing on baby bottle nipples. Nothing major yet. I have been told frozen bananas. Also Lilly prefers to walk not even attempting to crawl. She wants me to hold her in standing position all the time while she tries to walk everywhere. If I put her down you think the world was coming to an end.

Currently she is in her door swing. She is quite the entertainer with herself. We pretty much can just sit back and relax. That is a wonderful thing.

More later. Go Flyers!!

Lilly is 4 months old

Well we went to our MD visit today.
6 shots total. 3 were combined.
13lbs 8ounces 50% she will be a skinny girl
26 inches long 90%, she is super tall
40.7cm head

She did really well at the doctor's office. Dr. Hagee is off on maternity leave so Dr. Rhame is taking over. He said she could start eating #1 baby foods and rice cereal. So tonight we did rice cereal which was Oatmeal and Bananas. She seemed like she liked it but then again I just saw the video on it. :) We feed her a teaspoon about an hr before each bottle. If she wants more she can have more. If she does not want any than we move on. We just tried Pear. She gave that 2 bites. I brought the bottle of milk out and she was waving her arms all excited.

Lilly did her first official roll last Wednesday, May 12. I was at the airport. Now she is a pro at it. Well she can roll from her back to  her tummy but cannot return to starting position. We will get there I am sure.

Lilly also likes her silky security lamb, bear, and mouse. She runs the silky blanket all over her face and hmms while she gets ready to pass out. I will try to get that on video tomorrow. If we take her out and she is ready to sleep we just put the silky blanket on top of her head. Works every time. She is out cold.

Lilly still likes her Penguin friend. But she cannot sleep with him right now. Considering she can only roll 1 way we take everything out of the crib when it is sleepy time.

We removed the car seat adaptor to the Bob stroller. Lilly is a big girl now and can ride in her stroller sitting now.

May 3 2010

Hi Everyone,

Well what is new? Lilly can turn to her side. Did I mention this already? She turns and then she teeters "What am I suppose to do now Mommy?" and she just decides rolling to her back is easier than rolling over her arm. We are getting there.

During bath she pulls herself up in the bath chair. She cannot make it up all the way but she will be there soon. And in the tummy tub she would rather stand then sit.

This week we got her a jumparoo. She LOVES it. It is the entertainment in the room. It is great before bed time too. So far the trend has been put her in this thing and she sleep through the night. YEA!!!

Mommy has been sick. First my thyroid meds were completely off so I pretty much crashed out (slept all weekend). Tomorrow is the endocrinologist apointment. And then I had a super sore throat. Strep negative now checking for mono but I am positive that will be neg I already had it. Who knows. I feel much better.

Tuesday (tomorrow) Cappi and Great Grandma will be in town for mother's day. Dad is bringing in his clubs to get his golf game on.

I am off to bed for some needed rest.

Lilly is 3 months 1 week

Hi All,

Yes yes I know..it's has been a month and no news. Sorry. I have been consumed by work and then when I get home I want to spend my time with Lilly. Currently she is in her swing taking a little nap before her last bottle and bed time.

What is new? Well we went to see if Lilly would ever latch on..the nurse looked at me then Lilly and said why fix what's not broken..stay married to your pump. Lilly weighed in at 13lbs 7 ounces today. The nutritionist tested my breast milk. For formula you are getting 20 calories no matter what. With breast milk anywhere from 25-30 calories. I came in at 30. She said the normal mom pumps 32 ounces a day. I am pumping 42 ounces a day. so far 16 bags frozen. Nice.

Ok enough of the detail junk lets talk Lilly. About a month ago I said she rolled. Well that was a mistake. She did roll but it was an accident. She is learning and should be able to flip in the next month or two. Right now she can turn to her side. I say Yea!!

She is a very serious baby. It take s a lot to impress this little tinker. She loves when you sing to her otherwise you better be standing on your head blowing bubbles out of your nose for a laugh.

We took the TV away. After everyone told me NO TV and then Liesbet through in ADHD I stopped the tele. However, Lilly put up a good fight. In as many screams and kicks for 2 days she tried to assure me that TV was good and Yo Gabba Gabba was educational. To substitute we got a mega rainforest jungle gym mat. It has been pretty entertaining for her. We also have her in the bouncy chair that hangs from the door. Now this is very entertaining bc things light up when I touch them Mommy. We have started the Peter Rabbit series. she gets a bottle anywhere between 6:45-7:30. We read a book and then bedtime. No more of this 11pm stay up watching CNN and Rambo with Daddy.

Lilly does have a very flat head. But what can you do about that. Put a helmet on her which I am not going to do. I figure wants she rolls the flat head will go away.

And for our other love Twiggy turned 12. Yes we celebrated. She got a blanket and new dog house.

More to come....

I had to post this: but Lilly just rolled stomach to back in her crib. And she was happy about it!!! Yea

Lilly's New Tricks

Hi Everyone,

Well Mommy gets to stay at home with Lilly and Twiggy today. Our nanny is sick with a stomach bug. :( Not good for nanny. I hope she feels better.

This weekend starting Thursday Michael went to Laredo for a boy's weekend. He seemed to have a lot of fun. They grilled, played cards, looked for wild boar, deer, and coyotes and of course drank beer. As for the 3 girls we bunkered down for survival weekend. Friday Lilly decided she was not going to sleep for 3 hrs and instead screamed and cried during that time. Last resort was to hold her like Viviana our nanny does. It worked! Out like a light. The rest of the weekend was smooth sailing.

Sunday Lilly and I went to Starbucks and met a few of my friends with their kids there. Sarretta, Liesbet, and Chelsea. It's always fun to hang out with them. We have already planned a Fiesta Parade as our next meeting in 3 weeks.

Wednesday is a big day for Lilly. She gets to meet 1 set of Aunts and Uncles. And her 2 cousins! Plus PopPop and Mimi will be here too. The Franchella's and Lehman's are here for Easter Weekend. We are VERY Excited!!

New things Lilly is doing these days: She can ride in her umbrella stroller with no assistance. She loves to grab her rattle, top, anything available to her. The Tummy Tub is still her favorite!! She loves Baby Einstein McDonald on the Farm (Funny I remember watching that with Emma in the car to her 2 yr bday party). Walks to the Shops with Viviana she seems to enjoy as well. Lilly sometimes can figure out how to put her binky back in her mouth. I have to say, a clever little girl!

Lilly is 2 months old today

Hi All,

Well Lilly is officially 8 weeks old today. How time goes by. Normally I would say what a great day for the Griffindor, but we had a MD appointment and with that came 6 shots! 1 was oral, 3 were combined. So she really only had 3. Poor Lilly. I have never seen her so hurt and upset. She was laughing and so happy and then the next second she is screaming so loud. I almost cried. My Dad was there for support. He ended up feeding her a bottle. This of course made all things better.

So the shots given today were: Rotavirus, DTaP, 2nd shot of HepB, Hib, Polio, and PCV. What does this mean? Well I guess in my mind she will not get any of these diseases and she can go to school! Yea Lilly. You’re on your way.

Ok the most important thing her measurements. She weighed in at 11lbs. Oink Oink on the breast milk. She is 23 inches long. And the chart says she is 75% above average for girls her age. Hmm are we seeing a model or basketball player in our future Griffindor? And her head circumference is 38.0 cm. She has a tiny head on the charts for girls. Which means she got this from one of her parents...Michael? A tiny head, but a big brain. So Lilly is doing great!

What has she learned in 2 months: She coos, she laughs and smiles. She can hold her rattles. She can stand in her Tummy Tub. Lilly loves Yo Gabba Gabba, Olivia, and Wonder Pets on Nick Junior. She loves her vibrating chair and to be wrapped like a burrito in it. She has to have her binky at all times! Our sleep pattern is lasting longer through the night. Thank you Jesus! And Twiggy and our little Griffindor are slowly bonding. I would say it has been a great 2 months.

I cannot believe in the next 2 months she will be starting to eat pureed foods.

Lilly is 10lbs

Hi Everybody,

Well I am 2 weeks late on an entry because work is kicking my butt. Yesterday if I was a celebrity I would of been admitted into Mount Sinai Hospital for exhaustion! I thought I had a bug but I was asleep for almost the entire day and night. I felt horrible. So mom took Lilly out just in case I was truly sick.

Lilly is definitely 10lbs+ now. She is getting to be such a big girl. She has so much more personality. She laughs now and coos a lot. Her favorite program is on her favorite channel Nick Junior Yabba Gabba Gabba. It reminds me a lot of TeleTubbies. Which I was a huge fan of when I traveled to London bc nothing else was on but BBC news. Lilly LOVES her nanny, Viviana. She goes for a stroll everyday. And they get to watch movies on Lifetime and Showtime. She has taken in every love story that involves an affair or murder or Twilight and ET.

Twiggy got a puppy cut on Friday. It took a good 10 years off of her. She feels so much better now. She is doing a lot better with Lilly as well. Yesterday she ran up her dog steps to the couch and sat by Lilly's boppy chair hanging out. We really do not have to worry about when Shih Tzus attack anymore.

As for fun things with Lilly last week we went towards New Braunfels and took Lilly to the Safari. She slept the entire time. Which may have been a good thing bc Mommy almost got killed by and Ostrich. If GiGi had not screamed the Ostrich would of been pecking my eye out and a baby donkey may have got injured as well. Today we are either hitting the San Antonio ZOO or SeaWorld. We will let daddy choose.

Jewish Community Center

Lilly and I went out today. Our adventure was Baby R Us and the Bank. We got a vibrating chair but the darn thing required a 5V battery. Baby R Us does not carry the battery..go figure. So we then went to Walmart. They did not carry the battery. So I returned the vibrating chair. We got a different one that took C batteries. Can I say a miracle chair. She goes to sleep or silence which is always better immediately. We also got a mobile on batteries. So now I do not have to wind up her bunny mobile 50x! Oh and this one has a remote so I can just sit on the couch and push a simple button and Kazamm it turns back on!!! Oh I am getting clever with these products.

Ok everyone wants to know what the heck Mike and I are doing about Lilly when I go back to work. And it maybe as soon as Monday that I return. Well we have a nanny for 3 months through an organization called MBF. Mommy's Best Friend. Yes it does cost you but right now it is our only choice. Then in June...Lilly will be attending the school of the Jewish Community Center. I am there tomorrow with her meeting the asst director and filling out the paperwork. There is a huge waiting list and we made the cut!!! It is the best daycare in San Antonio.

We are also on the Concordia Lutheran Church waiting list which is consider as good as the Jewish Community Center.

Oh and the biggest achievement: I was busy pumping and Lilly's Binky fell out of her mouth. She manged to use both her hands and put it back in her mouth. This at 5 months! Next thing she will be crawling to the fridge and feeding herself.
New pics tomorrow. Jill

What I have learned in a month

I can truly say I have a new respect for all mothers out there. Without child your life is just about you, a husband, and a shih tzu. With child your world has been changed forever. In the past month I have learned I will never sleep the hours I did until Lilly has left the nest...or is a teenager sleeping in because it is summer vacation. My schedule is her schedule. Everything is out the window!

I have been peed, pooped, and puked on and yes this has happened on more than 1 occasion.

Little things I have become clever with especially when it comes to putting Lilly to bed. Mikes back massager is a nice vibrator in crib ( yes i stand over until she is asleep), stuffing blankets in the swing so she is not in a curling position 24 hours a day. Dora the explorer has become a routine...apparently its her favorite.

Mommy and Me wears her OUT! So play dates are a must.

Finding a nanny/daycare is a nightmare and I doubt I will return to work March 1.

Having a husband who drops everything once he walks in the door from a work to see her is Awesome!

Watching tv and eating have become at odd hours: breakfast is usually at 5am for me.

Having GG down the hall to take Lilly so I can sleep is a true blessing!

And since Lilly has Colic moving to a preemie nipple, Gripe Water, and pushing her legs into her belly gets rid of gas. Who knew.

Shih Tzu learned running towards Lilly and sitting by her each time she cried gets Shih tzu extra attention! Wow smart doggy. She is being so much better now that she has learned this trick.

And last sleep when she sleeps is a must!! Which means I am off to bed.

1:45am

Well it is 1:45am. It was a fight this evening to get Lilly to sleep in her crib. She won and she is now in her swing.

Lilly is experiencing Colic right now. It takes anywhere from 1hr to 3 on Friday to soothe and calm her down. Vibration, the swing, walking her in stroller all seem to help.

Last night Lilly stayed over at GG's. It went well. Mom said it was hard for the 1:30 shift but the rest was a piece of cake. Tonight it is Twiggy's turn to stay over at her Grandmother's. Actually what happened is Twiggy was placed on my mom's bed and when I was leaving Twig had all 4's up snoring. I did not have the heart to wake her and bring her home to a screaming baby. So Twig has gotten 2 nights of rest!

Mike and I walked Lilly around the shops this afternoon. Every time she fussed in a store it was our cue she was over it! Borders lasted 20 minutes!

I actually went to the gym today! I am not going to tell my weight but I have a good 2-30 pounds to lose! So off to the gym on a daily basis now. Lilly and I have Mummy and Me Yoga on Tuesday. I will definitely bring my camera for that one.

OK I am off for some much needed sleep. Enjoy the new pics and new videos.

1 month old

Good Morning All,

Lilly is 1 month old today. We are celebrating by going to my OBGYN appointment. Maybe a little Starbucks on the way there. I am not sure if I mentioned this in the last blog, but we have moved into our Big Girl crib! She is doing well and sleeping well in the crib. Well tonight she is in her swing bc that is where Mike left her. I haeve been on binky duty since 1:40 (after feeding) and it is 2:40 now. I think she may finally be asleep.

I have a new video. Yea! I will post that in the am when I am awake and rested, that means by noon.

We finally started our process with the Nanny Agency. We are using an agency called MBF ( Mommy's Best Friend). The contract will be faxed in tomorrow and then we get to start interviewing the Nannies. I like this better than option #2 which was Daycare.

Lilly is asleep. I am off to bed. I will up date more tomorrow.

Happy President's Day

Hi Everyone,

I have been pretty quiet this week. I have been trying to just stay alive as my friend Kristen would say. New things for Lilly she has moved out of newborn clothes and diapers. Yes we are now in the 0-3 sizes and size 1 diapers. She is getting to be so big.

Next new thing we have figured out which cry means what. We have the real cry, which means I am hungry and I have a dirty diaper. The fake cry which is 1 huge yell so you pay attention to her. The Long fake cry which means Pick ME up NOW! And the Whiny Cry which stands for I Hate Tummy Time.

We are on a set schedule which starts at 12am, 3am, 6am, 8am, 11am, 1pm, 3pm, 6pm, 9pm. These are feedings and definite diaper changes. Now Lilly likes to stay up from 7pm-12am. So Mommy is up too. I have discovered many movies on Demand and the couch is my new bed. Twiggy rotates between bed and couch. She just got medicated. She tends not to like the crying so much.

Lilly Loves the TV. So far her favorite things to watch are Julie and Julia, the Olympic skaters, and Chuck.

The house was a complete disaster but we have managed to pick up last night. Date night does not exist anymore. We did manage to walk Twiggy and Lilly in both strollers to Borders yesterday. Twig got a lot of attention from the store clerks.

My next MD appt for me is Friday. This will also mark Lilly as being 1 month old!!!!

New Videos will be posted tomorrow.

Tummy Time

2 weeks 6 days

Well we are officially on a schedule. I feed her at 12, 3, and 6. And then every 2hrs during the day. Last night was unusual. We had hockey players who decided to have parties up to 3am. I think security was called several times (not by me for once). I am just happy Lilly can sleep through almost anything.

It is a rainy day here in San Antonio. The Franchella's have made homemade pasta sauce for dinner tonight. MMMM Very excited to eat. It's pretty much all I have been thinking about.

As for Lilly she is getting bigger each day. She does not look the same as when she was born. It's amazing how 3 weeks have gone by and her appearance has completely changed. Her personality is so much fun. She smiles a lot and is very vocal when she wants to be held. She does a cute grunt. When she is made her cry sounds like a race car. So much entertainment with this one.

The blog will now go weekly instead of daily. I will continue to post pics. If you want to see video of Lilly go to:

2 weeks and 3 days

Days are running together now. Breastfeeding, pumping, diaper changing, focusing on 2 babies (twig and Lil) is all I do these days.

Lilly just got a bath from Daddy. She was actually pretty silent during this bath time today. We have decided to run water continuously on her through the long shower handle to keep her warm. She seemed to enjoy this. It helped that she had food right before bath time too.
Exciting news for the day Lilly has completely lost her umbilical cord. She has an innie belly button. We (Lilly, Twig, and I) went for a walk on the trail today. Which meant I carried Twig and Lil was in the stroller. It was 65 and sunny so a nice day. Twig was pleased, she gave her Pig some attention when we got home. Tummy time was about 20 minutes. Lilly has been up pretty much the entire day and finally went to sleep 10 min ago (6pm).

Yesterday we went out to a restaurant. Lilly was quiet the entire time. Amazing! Her sleep was bed at 1:30and then she woke up at 5:30.

I really cannot remember anything else. Sad I know. I am just completely beat!

Day 15

Today has been good so far. Twiggy got a bath and seems a lot better today.
Lilly is having her usual talk with MiMi and PopPop while Mike is on the floor (shocker) saying he needs a nap (yawn).

It is raining Cats and Dogs here in San Antonio so not much we can do but stay inside. Twiggy and I may drive to HArbucks later for a little socializing.

Lilly always keeping me on my toes did 3 dumpies in 1 changing. I literally had to change her diaper 4 times. I think she is going for some kind of record.

Apparently the "Tummy Time" seems to be working. She can push her back up in her swing and she can roll to her side now. This little baby is a strong one. More later.

Day 14

Lilly had her 2nd MD appointment. These were her Stats:
At 2 weeks
Weight: 7lbs 10oz
LT: 21 1/2 inches
Head Circum: 34.7cm
She is very long for her age, weight is right on target, and head is small but normal.
She received her 1st shot the Hepatitis B. She was not thrilled at all about this.

At 1pm MiMi and PopPop arrived from Delaware. This is Mike's parents. MiMi talked to Lilly from 1-9 and apparently that conversation was so interesting Lilly slept last night!!! She was in bed by 10-2. Then 3:30-6:30. It was nice.

Twiggy got her 1st sedative last night after growling at her mommy in bed! I think it took the edge off.

I am posting a pic of Mike. He thinks he is Jack Bauer these days. I think he is in shock of having a baby at home.

Day 13

Hi everyone,

Well Last night was a little bit of drama. Lilly decided, as she does every night, that a good time to be awake is from 9pm-2am. I was in bed trying to calm Lilly down, when it happened. It was like a bad episode on TLC "When Shih Tzus Attack." Twiggy went after Mike. He was petting her and she was jealous of Lilly we think. So Mike took Lilly and put her in the crib. Needless to say Lilly was screaming bloody Murder and wanted to be in her swing. Twiggy was wimpering and I was crying. I think Mike was a little overtaken by all 3 girls crying. We got Twig calm, put Lilly in her swing, and I finally stopped crying. Twiggy will now be on anxiety medication starting today. :)

Lilly finally went to bed at 2 but then we had a feeding at 5, 9 and now 11:30. Awesome! Mommy is pooped!!!!

Mom and Dad (Jill's parents) just left. Dad is headed to the airport on his way back to Birmingham. He got to spend a full week with his granddaughter. He really enjoyed his time with her. Mom will be leaving tomorrow. She is setting up her new apartment, which is literally 4 doors down from us. We are 1317 and she is 1323. She will start her new 3 month job at the VA Feb8 or 15th. Mom has been fantastic in helping Mike and I with anything we have needed.

Tomorrow is the big day for Mimi and PopPop. They arrive from the airport (Oh yes they did FLY!!!) at 1pm. We will be sure to get lots of photos. They are here for 10 days and are very excited to see Lilly.

Mike returned to work today. He will be there today and tomorrow and then is taking the rest of the week off. We are also having our carpets cleaned today. Thank goodness. They are no so clean.

Ok enjoy the post. I am off to feed before WW3 breaks out.

Day 12

Lilly decided last night that she did not want to sleep from 7pm until 1am. GiGi and Cappi gave her a bottle around 10:30. Still awake and not realizing she had a bottle I breastfed her. Needless to say, mommy got puked on and had to change the bed sheets 2nd day in a row. MIke did a little "Tummy Time" with her and at 12:30 I fed her again. She was out! We had a 4:30am feeding then 9:30am, then 12pm. So as you can see her feeding schedule is very random.

Currently Miss Lilly is in her swing pondering on when dinner time is going to take place.

This weeks events have included time with Cappi (Grandpa Griffin) and GiGi (Grandma Griffin). She had a MD appt on Monday. She weighed in at 7lbs 1oz! She had slight jaundice but is slowly going away. She has had a visit from our friends Liesbet, Mike and Maggie.

Mimi and PopPop will be coming in On Tuesday from Delware to visit Miss. Lilly.

Twiggy had 1 episode yesterday. She was a little sad and needed quiet time in the Big Girl bed. She is doing much better tonight.

Agenda for today: Bath Time.
